For Children ages 2.5 - 6 yrs old
Join Penta the turtle and friends as they embark on an epic mission to collect sounds from the the caves, snow-capped mountains, city and create music for the Royal Gala of the underwater kingdom. The journey won't be smooth though - they will face numerous challenges & they have to use their musical cunning to overcome. River crossings, trudging through the depths of forests, communicating with unique creatures, a possible saboteur... Will they make it back in time for the gala in the underwater kingdom?
As your child and friends solves the challenges along the way, they will learn about fundamental musical concepts. The curriculum covers: pitch perception, rhythm, musical form, tonality and many others. The interesting part comes when they apply what they have learnt and flex their creative muscles in composing music at every stage of their journey. Doing everything in a group is fun, and they get to help Penta and the underwater world to boot!
Your child will:

1) Experience playing the Drums, Violin and Piano during the first term and learn to play a song using all three instruments progressively throughout the year. Parents will then know which instrument the child likes and thereafter choose a specialisation.
2) Enhance their creativity by learning to create musical compositions and tunes to take home and share with others.
3) Use unique and state-of-the-art interactive media equipment (sensors, electronic gadgets) for fun and immersive learning. This Project is backed by MICA (Ministry of Communication, Information and the Arts).
AND
I) Develop a love and appreciation of music, to minimize the chances of dropping out of music classes later in life. Increase the likelihood of children continuing to appreciate and develop their musical talents.
II) Learn the essentials of the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal School of Music) & Trinity Guildhall syllabus, which would be helpful when they take music theory exams.
III) Learn through visual, auditory & kinaesthetic (body movement) means in small groups. This is good for active kids who like to move around.
For whom? Children ages 2.5 - 6 yrs old. To enhance learning, children will be teamed up accordingly to their respective age groups. |
